MISSIONARY SUPPORT
Fr. John Naumann
Amani Care
Fr. John Naumann was raised on a farm near Toowoomba, Australia. He graduated from St. Francis Theological Seminary in 1966, serving in a series of Anglican churches in Queensland, Australia and Billings, MT.
In the year 2000, Fr. John Naumann spent four weeks of a sabbatical in central Tanzania. For Fr. John, the experience was life changing. During a time of prayerful reflection he understood the Lord to say, “I am planting a tree which will bear fruit.” Ever since, these words have been the guiding light for his ministry of care.
The Amani Development Organization ("Amani") was formed as a result of Fr. John Naumann’s vision to relieve poverty and is registered as an NGO in Tanzania. After retiring, Fr. John moved to Tanzania in 2005 and now lives at the Amani Vocational Training Center where he is CEO/Managing Director and provides spiritual leadership while sharing the skills learned on the farm in his youth.
