Meet our clergy
Fr. John King
Rector
We moved to Billings in July 2019, after retiring from the Navy where I served for 30 years as a pediatrician, specializing in children with developmental disabilities. I have been married to my wonderful wife Marji for 35 years. My daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren still live in Southern California. I earned my Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary, San Diego. My passions in ministry include: men’s ministry; discipleship and spiritual direction; Kairos prison ministry; Multicultural ministry; short-term missions; and rural/small town churches. I also enjoy horseback riding, bicycling, and fly-fishing. You can find some of my (very intermittent) ramblings at my blog “The Art of Being Still”.
Deacon Gretchen Knapp
I moved to Billings in 2010, after living in Hilger, Mt for 30 years. My husband, Frank and I have been married for 45 years and were ranchers for 30 years. I was ordained in 1996 and for most years have actively served as a deacon. My passion has always been the care and loving of the elderly, those home-bound or in nursing homes and hospital ministry. I also ensure that everything is in order for our services and help find ministers of the word. I have a week of continuing education each year with all the deacons in the diocese. I love camping, fishing, quilting, and bridge
