Blessing of the Animals

Join us Sunday, 10/15/23 at 1 pm at Pioneer Park as we bless our pets

Many Anglican churches celebrate the remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi by doing a pet blessing. The feast of St. Francis falls on October 4th, so churches often have this joyous celebration on or around that date. St. Francis was a Christian Saint living in the 13th century. He is well-known for his love of animals and all God’s creation.

There will be a short prayer service, including the blessing of the pets (Fr. John will sprinkle Holy Water on the pets (and their owners!). We ask that all animals be leashed and under control by their owners at all times. We will have water treats for both pets and humans!
